Turtle Island is a small island located 1.54 km from the Manitoba/Ontario border in Ontario, Canada.

It's 400 meters long and 140 meters wide at its longest points. It is only accessible by canoe and the best landing spot is on the eastern side of the island. The island is named after the snapping turtles that inhabited the area. Strawberries are known to grow on the island. There are some chairs and an oven (made from rocks) located on the eastern side. The Western side is thick bush.

Each year it is visited by students, in the Brandon, Manitoba area, who are participating in the award winning Eco Odyssey program.

No island exists at a point indicated in the article, that is "1.54 km from the Manitoba / Ontario border in Ontario". A search has been made on an authoritative national Canadian source, the Atlas of Canada, which gave seven islands in Ontario, none remotely close to the Manitoba / Ontario border; and a cross check on the Ontario Terminology GeoNames Index, an authoritative provincial source, gives the identical number of islands and identical county / district locations. The article has been tagged with and Tl template since November 2006, and no references have been added since. I have added a Tl template to the article; have added a note to the talk page of the article's creator Green slash] (talk); and will add the item to the WikiProject Canada Candidates for deletion section and related sections once the AfD is opened. --papageno (talk) 17:48, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Addendum: there is Snowshoe Lake in a location that matches the article text, according to the Atlas of Canada at Vorlage:Coord, but no islands are named within it. --papageno (talk) 18:38, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
