When {{translated tag}} is used on translated templates (English in this case) it will automatically categorize according to this helper template. All translated templates whose language does not have a page like this will go into their language's main template category by default. Creating a page like this allows each language to subcategorize their templates. It is not necessary nor is it recommended for languages with a small amount of templates. Since these subcategories will reside entirely within a localized category they may be in the local language (however always use the exact ones below for the {{translated tag}} parameter).
The possible subcategories are as follows:
- cleanup (main category | all translations)
- license (main category | all translations)
- marker (main category | all translations)
- problem (main category | all translations)
- restriction (main category | all translations)
- header (main category | all translations)
- infobox (main category | all translations)
- navigational (main category | all translations)
- user (main category | all translations)
- protection (main category | all translations)
- source (main category | all translations)
- documentation (main category | all translations)
- localisation (main category | all translations) - these may be used directly; the "do not use" message doesn't show up when this is set
- <default> (this can be anything, but usually set to the parent category: "Commons templates-language_code")
